KELLER ADDS CARBON FIBER SNARE
Carbon Fiber added to the inside ply of our premium VSS™ Snare

MANCHESTER, NH (February 11, 2010) — Keller Shells expands the offerings of our maple snares by adding a Carbon Fiber ply to the interior of our 5 ply VSS™ 14 inch diameter snares.

The marriage of these materials in a single shell results in a configuration that retains warm tones of Maple while giving the shells increased projection, volume, and an unprecedented strength to weight ratio. The dynamic range of this shell is already enhanced by our patented VSS™ Shell conditioning technology

“Using our 5 ply production snare shell, we’ve maximized the amazing dynamics of this maple shell by applying a thin inner ply of Carbon fiber to the interior. With the warmth of Maple and the attack of the Carbon Fiber, you get the best of both worlds in the same shell!” explains James Decknick, Vice President Sales and Marketing at Keller. “We are proud to provide the drum community with another new product innovation. Our customers are constantly looking for new ways to enhance their sound and we are pleased to help them perform at the highest levels.”

Not only will the sound entice you, the cool Carbon Fiber interior appearance will soon make this one of your favorite snares!

KELLER EXPANDS VINTAGE LINE
Adds 26 Inch Diameter Bass Drum VSS Shell

MANCHESTER, NH (January 19, 2006) – Keller Shells expands the Vintage Bass Drum line to include a 26" diameter shell.

“Keeping up with current music trends and vintage demands, we wanted our Vintage Bass Drum line to encompass 18-26 inch sizes, all in 14 inch depths. The ultimate in thundering bottom to any drum set, our 26 inch Vintage Mahogany/Poplar Bass Drum shell is unsurpassed in tone or volume,” explained Joe Montineri, director of musical product development for Keller. “An excellent choice for a new kit or reinventing your old one.”

Keller Products, the worldwide leader in quality drum shells, originally launched their line of Vintage shells last year. Constructed from African Mahogany (or North American Maple) and North American Poplar, all are enhanced with VSS technology to intensify the classic qualities. “These shells enabled the industry to achieve that great 'aged' sound of yesteryear with newly-constructed drums,”said James Decknick, vice president of sales and marketing for Keller.

KELLER EXPANDS 15-PLY LINE
More Depth Added to Our Premium VSS™ Shell

MANCHESTER, NH (January 19, 2006) – Keller Shells is expanding the depth offerings on its new 15-ply Curly Maple Snares, now available from four inches up to seven inches in height.

The dynamic range of this shell is enhanced by our patent pending VSS shell conditioning technology. The increased range offers more flexibility when looking for quick head response, crisp articulation, and a high-pitched presence. Complimentary lower frequencies are stimulated by the VSS component, allowing a more balanced timbre to be emitted.

“I started with a 15-ply ‘Pancake/Piccolo' style 4" x 14" snare shell to introduce a revolutionary new sound to the snare drum market. Now, I am adding depth to provide a wider range of sound. The additional depths will cover a full range of drummers' needs; from the sensitivity of the four inch shallower air column to the brute force of the seven inch deep shells' power of projection. With Keller's specially formulated ply configuration and premium hand selected Maple Core lay-up, there are no snare shells comparable on the market today,” said Joe Montineri, director of musical product development for Keller. “The ultimate mass of this shell will astound listeners and players alike.” Sensitivity and articulation, combined with incomparable projection makes for a total package never heard before especially with such a beautiful exterior.

Not only will the sound overwhelm you, the shear beauty is highlighted by the gorgeous AAA grade Curly Maple used on both the outside and inside face veneers, making this drum a collector's item. These 15-ply snares anxiously await your creative choice of Lacquer finish; whether it is to be clear, stained, or bursted.

KELLER LAUNCHES VERTICAL GRAIN LINE
New Cherry 9-Ply Shells with Maple Cores

MANCHESTER, NH (January 19, 2006 ) – Keller Shells adds a new, never been made before, 9-ply vertical grain Cherry (inside/out) with Maple cores.

"This new 9-ply shell design is extremely rigid, providing a more consistent tonality over a broader musical spectrum. Ultimately, this allows for a more cohesive timbre and balance in projection/volume from small to large sizes. The rigidity will make for a better 'speaking' attack, while the shell will offer an inherently low-end fundamental due to the vertical grain orientation. Also enhancing this sonic contribution is the optimization of our VSS™,” explained Joe Montineri, director of musical product development for Keller. “These above ingredients complete the 9-ply's strength and dominant full range power and focus.”

Along with the Cherry and Walnut, offering a dramatic new look to a "Maple Shell", these gorgeous veneers will stimulate new surface vibrations due to the density of each specific species vibratory rate characteristics. Also noticed, will be the tonality of each wood's reflective nuances. Due to each grain's physical pattern, it will break and grab reflective waves inside of the shell. Each wood species will "influence" the rate of reflection and dispersion, directly contributing to timbre modification via wood choice.

“We launched the vertical grain Cherry and Walnut with a huge inventory of face veneers in stock from our high end furniture lines. You can begin ordering today!” said James Decknick, vice president of sales and marketing for Keller. “The shells are available in our standard sizes with vertical grain Grade A Cherry or Walnut veneers inside and out. The warm color of this new veneer will only add to the presence these shells will already be making in your kit.”

KELLER INTRODUCES PREMIUM PICCOLO
A Specially Formulated Standout Premium VSS Shell

MANCHESTER, NH (July 1, 2005) – Keller Shells is proud to introduce its first new "Premium-Exotic" Custom Piccolo.

The dynamic range of this shell is enhanced by our patent pending VSS Shell conditioning technology. The narrow air column leads to quick head response, crisp articulation, and a high-pitched presence. Complimentary lower frequencies are stimulated by the VSS component, allowing a more balanced timbre to be emitted.

“I picked a 15-ply ‘Pancake/Piccolo' style 4" x 14" snare shell to introduce a revolutionary new sound to the snare drum market. With Keller's' specially formulated ply configuration and premium hand selected Maple Core lay-up, there is no snare shell comparable on the market today,” explained Joe Montineri, director of musical product development for Keller. “The ultimate mass of this shell will astound listeners and players alike.” Sensitivity and articulation, combined with incomparable projection makes for a total package never heard before in a Piccolo.

Not only will the sound overwhelm you, the shear beauty is highlighted by the gorgeous AAA grade Curly Maple used on both the outside and inside face veneers making this drum a collectors item. This Piccolo anxiously awaits your creative choice of Lacquer finish; whether it is to be clear, stained, or bursted.

To begin with, this is a different sort of review. We're not really evaluating the lovely champagne pink sparkle drumkit you see in the accompanying photos. The kit was made by noted drum builder Joe Montineri, specifically to demonstrate the sonic capablities of the shells from which the drums were constructed. You see, in Joe's "other life," he's a design consultant for Keller Products.

They care a lot about wood at the drum shell division of Keller Products Inc. The names birch, maple, cherry, oak and mahogany are mentioned with a reverennce that borders on religious.

Such devotion explains why this private company has been uniquely involved with the development of drum shell-making for more than 50 years - a time frame that pretty much covers the history of rock 'n roll and the explosion of popular music in the country.
